The American Bar Association’s 2024 GPSolo, LP & YLD Joint Spring Conference was held in Omaha, Nebraska from May 15, 2024 through May 18, 2024. The Spring Conference was filled with valuable networking opportunities amongst young lawyers and solo practitioners of various state bars. Attendees were treated to engaging panels and presentations, including, inter alia, an opening plenary featuring Iowa Justice Thomas D. Waterman, Nebraska Chief Justice Michael G. Heavican, and South Dakota Chief Justice Steven Jensen, which explored the meaning and aspirations of professionalism in contemporary legal practice, as well as presentations regarding Litigation Tips & Tricks, ranging from jury selection, making the most of Microsoft, and finding gratitude in our daily practices.
The social events organized by the ABA volunteers allowed attendees to appreciate the attractions Omaha has to offer, from the Welcome Reception held at the Omaha Zoo, rated the #1 zoo in the United States, to the Dinner Dance at the Durham Museum, housed in the city’s former Union Station and which featured the Museum’s collection on the history of the Lewis and Clark expedition.
Overall, the Spring Conference served as a vital reminder of all the ABA has to offer and gave both young lawyers and solo practitioners from across the country a chance to meaningfully engage with one another, all while exploring the beautiful city of Omaha!
