In the demanding world of law, where long hours, high stress, and constant pressure are the norm, lawyer wellness often takes a backseat. However, prioritizing mental and physical health is not just a luxury; it’s a necessity. Lawyers who are well-rested, balanced, and healthy are better equipped to handle the challenges of their profession and provide exceptional legal services.
By investing in their wellness, lawyers can improve their focus, decision-making, and overall job satisfaction. This, in turn, benefits their clients and the legal profession as a whole.
There are all sorts of resources out there for wellness, but where does one find them for lawyer wellness? The State Bar of Michigan has worked to publish a podcast series with JoAnn Hathaway and Molly Ranns. Focusing on new topics with each episode, the podcats dives into the interplay of practice management and lawyer wellness, covering topics such as Mental Health Resources, AI in the practice of Law, Wellbeing, Civility, and the changes as we move through our practices.
Available on Spotify and Apple Music, the podcast is a great way to fill those trips to the court or just to play in the background at the office. It can give you a tip that you might employ, or a space to just listen to others talk about the problems we face in the profession.
The State Bar of Michigan podcast series, On Balance, features a diversified array of legal thought leaders.
